DIY Power Bank
Charge a phone from an 18650 cell with a charger board and boost converter.

Overview
The TP4056 charges the cell safely from USB, the MT3608 boosts 3.7 V up to a steady 5 V, and a switch isolates the port when not in use.
Build Steps
Wire the charger
Battery to the TP4056's B+ and B− pads, USB input on the other side; use the protected board version.
Set the boost output
Set the MT3608 to exactly 5.0 V with nothing connected before attaching the phone port.
Connect the output
Boost output through the slide switch to the USB-A socket; keep the wiring short and thick.
Box it up
Mount everything in a small project box with a vent-free layout; never puncture or short the cell.
